Along the Oregon coast lies a tiny, charming town that is best known for its iconic sea stacks that have made its beach one of the most popular in the world and yes, it’s Cannon Beach, a town with great hikes, wonderful beach shacks, and unforgettable brewery shops.
Cannon Beach is located just about an hour and a half from Portland, or about four hours from Seattle. The town has a population of just under 1,500 people.

As part of any vacation, there are adventures, tours, and recreational activities, all of which are more expensive than a 24 hour rental of a Smart Car from Avis. Let’s put it this way, we’re getting the car for about the same amount as roundtrip cab fare from the airport.
We’re not planning on getting in any Smart Car high-speed chases. Instead, we’re heading out to explore the city, starting from our hotel, Dreams Villamanga in Nuevo Vallarta.

(more…)If the makeup of my personality was a recipe, it would be an eclectic mix of ingredients. Start with equal parts digital nomad and travel lover. Add a dash of being a foodie, a few shots of confidence, and a sprinkle of seeking out new adventures. Follow that with a 50/50 blend of my love for being surrounded by others and being in quiet isolation and you’ll find me where I am today.
Our first trip with two kids went well. We didn’t forget anything or have any major issues. We read as many articles and social posts to find tips that made sense to help. Everything from, “show up 3 hours earlier to the airport” (what?) to the more practical advice of considering where to pack things based on what will be needed before getting your luggage on the other side. If your luggage doesn’t make it, it helps to be confident you can survive overnight until the luggage is found or you can regroup at Walmart.
